Welcome American Theatre Organ Society!!

The Strand Theatre would like to welcome our world wide visitors to Central Indiana for the Annual International Convention of the American Theatre Organ Society. The Strand will soon be home to the very rare, and last remaining Louisville Pipe Organ Company "Uniphone" theatre organ. Everyone here in Shelbyville wishes you a fun, safe and enjoyable stay in Central Indiana. We look forward to hosting you in our theatre the next time the convention is held in this area. Please check back to our site, as we will have more about the very special instrument that will be installed in our theatre.
This organ was endowned by the Shelby County Historical Society. It is a shining example of an investment in our past that will add value to our future. The SCHS’s gift for the organ represents one of the largest gifts to a theatre organ project ever.
The Shelby County Historical Society "Uniphone" is the perfect size for our 400 seat house. Below is a picture of our unrestored console. This organ, Opus 536, was originally installed in the Uptown Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky. It sat in unheated storage for 25 years before it was acquired for the Strand project. We are excited about bringing this project to the Strand.
