Well, we don’t have Super Troupers, we don’t have Gladiators, we don’t even have Troupettes, but we do have 2 serviceable spot lights!   First we had to provide power, that was no easy task.  Both lights are run on dedicated 20 amp circuits fed from our new 400 amp panel under the stage.   As you can imagine, it is a great distance from the stage to the back of house locations.  The wire snaked its way through the tunnel, up a pole, across the inside of the balcony, and finally on top to the receptacle.   Next we had to modify the instruments to accept a more modern 2000 watt lamp.  The focal point of the new lamp is 3/4″ higher than the old lamps.   Since our original lamps are long since discontinued, we had no choice but to  modify the spot light lamp holders.  

Mission accomplished, now all we needed was a second follow spot operator.   Strand Board Member Cody Veerkamp has been supervising the retrofit.   He selected Strand Board Member Ron Bush to train on the proper follow spot technique.   We are pleased to announce that Ron, indeed, was trainable.   The two spotlights gave the performers that nice key and fill look.
