This has been another busy week at the theatre. This past Saturday, the Shelby Arts Council, a large supporter of the Strand, held the last of a 4-part workshop on beginning guitar. It was led by our board’s own Joe Gaudin. Five students completed the course. Joe has been responsible for keeping our stage very busy with events. Tonight is no exception. He has booked the rock band "Rule of Seven." The doors open at 7:30 with the show starting promply at 8:00. As always, it promises to be a first class show and for $7.00 at the door, it is tough to beat the price.
Tomorrow is another FREE event. It is celebrating the Spirit of America. The show begins at 7:00 PM. The doors will open at 6:30 for that event. In preparation for this show, our 50+ year old Hammond C2 was pulled onto the stage for testing and rehearsal last night by Maurice Finkel, Bob Schlick and Steve Soller. Everything tested well including the revolving Leslie speaker system.
Rehearsals have begun for a Strand Christmas holiday spectacular produced, written and directed by Cindy Houpt. It is currently booked at the Strand for two nights. We expect ticket sales to be very brisk for this extravaganza event and will let you know through this newsletter when and where they will be available. This is not one to miss!
As always, please check the website often for changes, activities and photos. We hope that if you are not currently volunteering, you may consider it in the near future.
