SCAF 2009 The 2009 Shelby County Arts Fest will take place in Downtown Shelbyville on October 10, 2009.    Activities are from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

The Strand is proud to be hosting the music portion of the day.  Starting at 10:00 am the Blue River Community Choir under the direction of Cindy Leahy will perform on the Strand Stage.

At 1:00 pm the Pitts Kitchen Dulcimer Band will bring their down home music to the acoustically live Strand.

To round out the afternoon will be the Slaughterhouse Five Mixed Quintet.  They will take the stage at 2:30 pm for an hour of music from the classical repertoire.

ALL CONCERTS DURING THE ARTS FEST ARE FREE OF CHARGE.   Come to one, or stay the day and hear them all!

Following the Arts Fest,  the Strand will have a special concert on Saturday night at 8:00 pm.   The BEATLES ACOUSTIC featuring Tim Spradlin will take the stage for a performance of all Beatles music.    Tickets for BEATLES ACOUSTIC are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.   Tickets are available at Mickey’s T-Mart, Blue River Printing and the Strand Theatre Box Office.   This concert will be a real treat for all the Beatles fans.

If the Beatles aren’t your favorite, our friends at the Shelby County Players are performing “The Unexpected Guest” by Agatha Christie.  This is directed by Tiffany Wilson.  The performance time is 7:30pm.   Advance tickets are $10 or $12 at the door.

The Strand extends a warm welcome to all to come visit our theatre during the 2009 Shelby County Arts Fest.
