ORGAN MAY BE OPENED FRIDAY

NEW INSTRUMENT FOR STRAND THEATRE BEING INSTALLED THE WEEK BY WORKMEN

WILL HAVE 2,800 PIPES

The new three-manual Marr and Colton pipe organ is rapidly being installed at the Strand Theatre here, where it is hoped to have the opening concert Friday night of this week. The remodeling of the inside of the theatre has been completed, two rooms being added on each side of the theatre proper, extending into the audience room.   In these rooms the pipes and machinery for the organ are now being installed with the workmen trying hard to get ready for the opening by Friday.

There are forty-five stops to the new organ, which will be one of the finest in this part of the country.   Each stop is connected with more than sixty pipes, making a total of 2,800 pipes.   A large number of arrangements can be had on this extensive instrument and something new in the way of organ music is promised to the theatre-going public.   The Marr and Colton organs are the make used by the theatres and churches in many of the larger cities.   Two car loads of parts have been shipped here from Warsaw N.Y., where the instruments are manufactured.
