OPERATION COMEDY is a comedy and music extravaganza benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project. The tour’s founder, Jon Stites is a writer, stand-up comic and veteran of the United States Army Infantry. Frustrated by corporate dog and pony shows that parade a few soldiers around in a transparent attempt to hawk more of whatever the hell they are selling, Stites, true to form, decided to take matters into his own hands. He approached National Lampoon, the Indiana National Guard and Crackers Comedy Club about sponsoring a comedy tour that was actually for the troops themselves, first and foremost. And so was born OPERATION COMEDY.
The mission of OPERATION COMEDY is bringing together through laughter and music the men and women of our armed forces and the communities in which they live while raising money for the WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.
