We are celebrating the library’s 105th birthday with a concert at the Strand! Indianapolis based musician, Dave Hepler, will be joining us in Shelbyville’s beloved theatre to perform.

Hepler has been playing music since the age of 8. He first played professionally with his dad as an 11-year-old trumpeteer and reacquainted himself with the piano while a trumpet major at Indiana University. He began working on simple melodies and eventually received jobs playing solo piano. Now, he has 6 released cds including ‘Secret Light’ recorded in November 2007.

As one listener comments, I have been an enthusiastic listener of jazz and other forms of adult alternative music for the last twenty-five years and I must say that I am extremely impressed with Dave Hepler’s talent and style. His music, including his original compositions as well as remakes of the compositions of others, possesses the combined qualities of being easy on the ear as well as being technically interesting and innovative.

Kids will love the show as much as adults. He is a Young Audience’s artist and has performed for thousands of young people, so bring the whole family.
