The Strand Theatre welcomed the Blue River Community Foundation for it’s annual meeting on Wednesday June 24, 2009.   The event highlighted the outstanding accomplishments of our Community Foundation.   The annual report was presented by Executive Director Susan Furgeson.  Along with comments by board president Nick Runnebohm, those in attendance got a glimpse of the philanthropy that was provided.  

The Strand is honored to be among the 2008 recipients for grants.   In addition the Strand maintains a strong relationship with the BRCF.   All monies donated to the Strand go to our account at the Foundation.   Because of their partnership and encouragement, the Strand has been able get off the ground and establish ourselves.   Our mission has always been primary.   The well placed investment in the Strand by the Foundation has allowed us to be true to our goal of providing a variety of outstanding live entertainment for our community.  

The articles on this web site serve as an archive for the Strand.  Sometimes pictures do not tell the whole story.   On the evening of this meeting, the temperature outside was 95°.   The 1954 vintage HVAC equipment with the 1960’s vintage AC units did the job.  Although we do not have AC in our lobby, the theatre was comfortably cool.
