Wow……what a show. On December 27, 2008 Joey G. and Smashed Productions closed the 2008 Inaugural Season of the Strand Theatre with ROCKPHORIA. The show highlighted great Rock n’ Roll tunes for the 60’s through today.


The first half of the concert started with a Beatles medley. The entire ensemble performed: Back in the USSR; Let It Be; Lady Madonna & Come Together. It was followed by:

The Strand has finished its first season. We, for the sake of clarity, are running our season based on the calendar year. The Strand is pleased to announce our numbers for the 2008 season. This ran from our opening on January 17, 2008 to our final performance on December 27, 2008.

If you have been waiting to check out a Rock Show at the Strand…wait no longer. To finish the year Joey Gaudin and Smashed Productions are bringing a great show to the Strand. On Saturday December 27, 2008 Rockphoria will be on the Strand Stage. This show will be a journey through great Rock and Roll hits of the past. The Rockphoria Band will be joined by 9 different singers doing a variety of styles and interpretations.
Come join the fun after Christmas. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advanced tickets may be purchased at Mickey’s T-Mart, Smashed Productions, Karma and Mac’s Music. Advanced tickets will also be available at Occasions Banquet Hall on December 20th at the Flying Toasters event that will benefit the Strand.

On December 20, 2008 Martin Zinser and Occasions Banquet Hall hosted a benefit for the Strand Theatre. The Flying Toasters performed at the event. Thank you to Martin and his crew for helping the Strand!

The Strand Theatre hosted a benefit concert for the Ryan Fischer Foundation. The performance featured music of local performers. The performers include Adam Cranfill, Michele Cole, Wes Leeper, Trent Sturgill and Nick Coulston. Thank you to all who came out to support this event. After the concert the Strand presented a check representing 100% of the ticket proceeds to Ryan’s parents.

The Strand Family wishes each and every one a very Happy Holiday Season. As 2008 comes to a close, was can look back and give thanks for all the wonderful things that have happened to the Strand in one short year. This Holiday Season makes the 92nd year that the Strand has helped Shelbyville and Shelby County ring in the Holidays!
